We drive past the impressive Harpa building, famous sun voyager statue and Hofdi House on the sea front. From here we visit the iconic Hallgrimskirkja Church and take a look inside before our last stop is the famous Perlan building. Opt to walk around the viewing platform for superb views across the city (entrance fee applies for viewing platform approx ISK490).
We also visit the charming fishing village of Hafnarfjorour. This afternoon, drive to the Reykjanes peninsula, famous for hot springs, picturesque mountains, bird cliffs, lighthouses and quaint fishing villages.
The next two nights are spent at Hotel Eyjafjallajökull, located in the countryside of South Iceland with a view over the mountain and volcanic range of Eykjafjallajökull, famous for its 2010 eruption. This remote location, away from light pollution, and set in a peaceful surrounding is ideal for seeing the Northern Lights. This evening we settle down to watch a fascinating documentary about the famous volcanic eruption of 2010, which caused flight chaos worldwide. Later on we enjoy a short Northern Lights photography lecture before heading outside to hopefully see them in all their glory.

The tour continues further south where you can stroll on the black lava beach to see the amazing bird cliffs at Reynisfjara near Vík.

The tour was amazing, our guide was perfect, very knowledgeable and friendly. The pace of the tour was great and it allowed enough free time to explore but not too much in certain areas where you could feel bored. Overall a great holiday.”
He was a wonderful guide -- full of pertinent information and humor. He kept us informed and entertained throughout the trip.
In addition, he was very attentive to our needs.
We could not have asked for a better tour guide.”
We had a lovely time in Iceland. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The small group size was also a bonus!
I typically don't schedule tours, and was concerned that this trip would feel too tour like if that makes sense, but I was so happy from start to finish.
Caroline, who assisted us throughout the booking process, was also awesome! I would consider using OTG again in the future. Booking through OTG took so much of the hassle out of planning during a busy time of the year, and made for a true vacation. ”
