Facts about Egypt

  • Ancient Egyptians shaved off their eyebrows to mourn the death of their cats.

Egypt Travel Advice:

We keep abreast of the latest travel advice to Egypt and follow advice as set out by the British Foreign Office. Please be assured that safety of our travellers is paramount and our tours will only visit places that the Foreign Office advises are safe to travel to. We recommend that your check the latest travel advice from the relevant advisory body in your country.

With recent events in the Middle East Region, travel advice to Egypt does change from time to time. At this point in time, we are using the sleeper train service between Cairo and/or Luxor and Aswan, as the Interior Ministry in Egypt disallows foreign nationals to travel on the seated service. We are also not running tours to the Siwa Oasis and will re-evaluate this again as soon as the FCO lifts the current travel ban to Egypt's Western Desert.

The FCO currently advises against all but essential travel by air to or from Sharm el Sheikh airport. None of our group tours include Sharm el Sheikh and so our group tours remain unaffected by this travel alert. We will be monitoring the situation closely.
